Success Stories

Molly and Wally

Molly came to us due to some scary interactions in which Wally was resource guarding food around her roommate’s dog. Beyond the safety concerns, it was an emotionally fraught situation. No one wants to risk losing a good roommate, or risk giving up their dog!

Molly appreciated our science-based and efficient way of training. When she decided to move forward with training, she saw results in days.

Within a week, Wally had learned some skills to stop his barking, and had begun targeted exercises to fix his food aggression.

Fast forward to 6 months after training, and Wally is a completely changed dog. He no longer resource guards, passed his Canine Good Citizen test, and he no longer barks incessantly.

Most of all for Molly, she gets to live with her dog best friend, and her human best friend without worrying about any fights. There's no more tension, and everyone has peace of mind.

Boogey & Coco

Their owner called us after several incidents in which Coco had, without warning, attacked her housemate, Boogie. In addition to this, she had attacked a dog outside the home.

They began intensive training right away, and within weeks, the improvement was incredible. We addressed Coco's "on switch"- which was that when she got excited, she didn't pause to think. Because of this, aggression was her "first choice."

With that addressed, we worked to address the resource guarding of the owners, and the outright dog aggression towards unfamiliar dogs.

Coco is now easy to take out on walks, and with the use of stationing and positive reinforcement, there have been no more incidents between the two dogs at home. We are so proud of how far they've come, and how much work their family has put in.

Bella & Daisy

Daisy was a typical COVID puppy: she had gotten so used to being around her people that when they returned to work and school, Daisy didn't know how to cope. Even worse, she was showing increasingly worse reactivity.

Bella reached out to us, and a few weeks later we started training. Within days, Bella saw huge improvements in her family's and Daisy's quality of life. We helped them come up with ways to manage the situation that didn't feel restrictive or time-intensive.

Within weeks, Daisy's reactivity had greatly improved. Like any terrier mix, Daisy had a lot of energy and really struggled with frustration. Our focus on nervous system regulation gave Daisy the tools she needed to regulate around her triggers instead of reacting to them.

Months later, and Daisy's behavior has only improved. Bella can now take her for walks again, and her family doesn't need to worry about Daisy's barking interrupting their phone calls or their post-dinner routine of quiet TV watching.

Bella is still in touch with us today, and we're happy to say that our trainers and training philosophy sparked a love of animal behavior- she is now studying animal behavior, and plans to become a trainer when she graduates school.

Paige, Teddy, and Ollie.

Paige contacted us at her wit's end- she had a toddler, a work from home job, and dogs that never stopped barking.

We worked to help her stabilize the situation, and then to teach both pups about calming down. Then we worked to teach the dogs that the arrival of a new person, or something out the window, was the cue to go to their designated place.

They've excelled, and Paige says that her family couldn't believe the difference when they come to visit.

Rico

Rico came to us for multiple bites to strangers in the home. With a grandparent moving into the home, it was imperative that this be treated immediately. Rico took to Max immediately, and after a few months, his family no longer worries about his biting or nipping strangers.

Zara, Jenn &Jason

Jenn and Jason reached out to us after bringing home their new puppy, Zara. Zara had been going to the bathroom in her crate, couldn't be left alone, and had no manners to speak of. The biting and jumping up had already caused injury, and Zara was going to be big- so this needed to stop, ASAP.

Luckily, they found us, and things improved immediately. The biting and jumping stopped within days. Because they went through our 8 week intensive program, Zara has perfect obedience and a rock-solid ability to come when called.

Jenn and Jason love that Zara can be trusted off-leash and that they have full peace of mind with our Lifetime Support promise.
